Lauren never anticipate that yoga would become part of her dally life. A California girl raised on athletic fields, basketball courts, and in swimming pools, she traveled east for the classrooms of Princeton, and after graduating, moved to New York for life as a young Wall Street professional. She turned to yoga, hesitantly at first, as a way to diversify her Manhattan treadmill workouts. She soon realized that with regular practice, on and off the mat, yoga can change you from the inside, out, as well as from the outside, in.
In spring 2009 Lauren resigned her job as a Vice President at Morgan Stanley to launch I.AM.YOU., a lifestyle brand and yoga studio in Manhattan’s Soho.
Since, Lauren has become revered as one of New York’s Top Yoga and Lifestyle experts, featured on CNN, Bloomberg, Harper’s Bazaar UK, New York Magazine, New York Times, NY1 Television and more. She shares this experience via her classes, seminars, and trainings, as well as through her regular columns and daily blog. Lauren’s yoga and approach to nutrition have been named “New York’s Best.”
Lauren works with urbanites, Division I Collegiate Athletic teams, corporations, Hollywood stars, and individuals across the globe. She is the first to develop Health & Wellness Education programs, the latest industry innovation, and from there leads Career & Life Coaching. All is based on her multiple degrees, but more importantly her experiences in the Wall Street trenches to the streets of now. These cutting edge approaches to Yoga, alone and intertwined with Nutrition and Coaching, have taken her with I.AM.YOU. across Europe, Latin America, and the United States to teach.
Lauren unites the Tibetan Philosophies and teachings of Jetsun Kushok of the Sakya Tradition with the Indian Hindu Traditions of yoga and Western approaches to life. She graduated with an Advanced Certification from Conquering Lion Yoga, received a secondary Advanced Certification from Kula Yoga School, the ultimate in creative, anatomy centric yoga, and complimented this with a Certificate from the Advanced Studies Yoga Anatomy Program. Lauren is a graduate of the Institute of Integrated Nutrition and a certified Holistic Health Coach, as well as accredited by t he American Association of Drugless Practicioners. She holds an Intermediate Level Certification from the International Wine Center and A BA in Romance Languages and Literatures from Princeton University.
Lauren gives thanks to all her teachers, especially Schuyler Grant from Kula, Yogeswari and Lady Ruth from Jivamukti, and Kelly Morris. And, above all, her family.
